15 Quotes about immigrants that will make everyone proud. [Immigrant Teenlife]

For those of you readers who are overseas, I’m about to state something that might ruffle some feathers:

America is the greatest country on earth.

sky earth galaxy universe
Yes, On Earth.

Over the last 200 years, we became a country that was undiscovered to many people, to one of the biggest world powers the world has ever seen.

And that world dominance came from people all over the world who shared their beliefs, cultures, and ideas to this country.

Our world is being much more diverse, with globalization taking over, people all over the world are able to interact with each other.

And since this is my series, “Immigrant Teenlife”, I will put some quotes that will make us immigrants proud.

So here we Go!

  • “We need to remain a nation that doesn’t just welcome but that celebrates legal immigrants who come here seeking to pursue the American dream.”

    – Ted Cruz

Although there is a little bit of controversy between illegal immigrants and legal immigrants, we have always been a country of acceptance for those who escaped their country because of prosecution, violence, or poverty.

So us Americans are always here to help!

  • “We are a nation of immigrants. We are children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the ones who wanted a better life, the driven ones, the ones who woke up at night hearing that voice telling them that life in that place called America could be better.”

– Mitt Romney

The culture…

As I said earlier, we came from all over the world to share our cultures. I believe that without us immigrants, the United States would probably be a poverty stricken country.

  • “In a land of immigrants, one was not an alien but simply the latest arrival.”

– Rudolph Arnheim

It’s kind of like a new kid at school. Nobody’s going to know who you are, but they will ask where you’re from.

And once you get settled, it will be much easier for you.

  • “That is a reward that humbles me: the fact that immigrants coming to America, much like I did, can come into a Forever 21 and know that all of this was started by a simple Korean immigrant with a dream.”

  • “When you get to know a lot of people, you make a great discovery. You find that no one group has a monopoly on looks, brains, goodness or anything else. It takes all the people – black and white, Catholic, Jewish and Protestant, recent immigrants and Mayflower descendants – to make up America”

Us humans tend to stereotype people who are of a different color, religion,  or gender. We should get to know them before we make a specific judgement about them.

– Mario Cuomo

The symbol of liberty for all!

To some people, immigrants are perceived as poor, dirty people who want to make a living in the U.S.

However, we don’t know that they make our economy stronger.

  • ” Immigrants have faced huge obstacles to achieving the American Dream, yet have persevered to overcome them.”

A snail trying to overcome an obstacle.
Now THAT’S TOUGH!

That is a living testimony. For example, my dad went to school here in the U.S for a very long time.

He wanted to really live the American Dream.

He spent so long that the rest of the family was getting discouraged that he wasn’t going to achieve his degree.

Until, a couple years ago when he earned his degree.

This piece of advice is not just for immigrants, it’s for anyone who is willing to pay the price to achieve their dreams.

  • “Remember, remember always, that all of us, you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.”

In each generation, they have proved to be the most restless, the most adventurous, the most innovative, the most industrious of people. Bearing different memories, honoring different heritages, they have strengthened our economy, enriched our culture, renewed our promise of freedom and opportunity for all…”

All because of immigrants.

Despite how far we came to the United States, and skin tone variations, we should realize that we are all the same inside.

Because we all bleed the same color.

Some true patriots!

They tend to be more American because of their portrayal of true American character.

True American character is when one is a dreamer, constantly going after what they want, and when they are working their butts off to make it into reality.

Yep. A new life.

See, when you’re in a new country, you’re not going to know anyone.

So, it’s basically a new chapter in your life.

You’ll have to meet new people, get new clothes, and find a new way to live.

But, that’s why you left, Right?
