” I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
What is fear?
According to the dictionary, fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
Let me tell you something…
Fear can either ruin or make you conquer life, if you allow it to.
Our brains were wired for us to be fearful beings, but that’s not how we should live life.
I will show you some fears that destroy people’s potential and gets in the way of how we ALL should live our lives.
1. Fear of Judgement
This is by FAR the biggest reason why many of us don’t accomplish our dreams.
It’s because we seem to care about what others are going to think about us.
But, stay focused on you!
Here are some examples of how this fear affects our lives:
- The places we work – We shouldn’t ask for permission where to work at.
- Clothes we wear – Wear the clothes that you like, and don’t let others’ opinions mess that up.
- Personality – Sad, but true. Some of us behave in a way that is trying to please other people.
People who are always judging others are insecure.
It means that they are treating themselves horribly, and they want to focus on other people to make themselves feel better.
2. Fear of Missing Out(FOMO)
I remember at the end of my sophomore year in high school, there was this big dance everyone was going to.
I was going to go, but the tickets were really expensive, so I decided not to buy them.
The day of the dance, I went through social media to see everything, and that made me sad.
This is a big one because we want to be like everyone else…
We want to party with everyone, meet with everyone, and sometimes even know everyone.
Sorry to say this, but we’ve got to miss out sometimes.
Since the rise of social media, the fear of missing out is becoming one of the biggest fears out there.
3. Fear Of The Unknown
This fear includes the fear of hurt, change, and failure.
Sometimes, we need to get in places we’ve never been in order to experience what we’ve never experienced.
I get it, it’s tough.
But, getting over this fear will only make you tougher.
Another thing that can make you mentally stronger is by reading books.
A book that I recommend would be 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan Peterson.
What time is it?
The homework assignment is to write down your biggest fears and face at least 1 of them.
After doing that, you’ll realize that fear can easily be defeated.
If you’re willing to defeat it, of course.
I will know when you’re done once you type it in the comments below.
WARNING: I am always watching you. 🙂
Life is full of opportunities, but if you let fear take them away from you, it’s over.
We all have fear, but it’s how we deal with it that matters.
I have a quick question for you:
Are YOU going to let fear take over everything in your life?
” The eagle has no fear of adversity. We need to be like the eagle and have a fearless spirit of a conqueror!”
Always remember that YOU are AWESOME!!!
